...when you can have it all? Stereotyped thinking results in stereotyped research. We therefore refuse to define ourselves as either inorganic or organic chemists, but are trying to combine the best of both worlds.

Our group focuses on various areas of modern organometallic chemistry, tackling fundamental problems and also doing applied research in cooperation with industry. Current topics include:

   - Reaction mechanisms and reactive intermediates
   - Molecules with unusual bonding situations
   - Homogeneous catalysis with transition metals and Frustrated Lewis Pairs (FLPs)
   - Organic electronics and luminescent materials
   - Oligosilanes/-germanes and Si/Ge nanostructures
   - Single-crystal X-ray crystallography
